TVP launches FTA platform on ASTRA
The public Polish television Telewizja Polska SA (TVP) launched a free-to-air platform on ASTRA on 15th September 2009. TVP has therefore extended its satellite capacity contracts for the use of two transponders at ASTRA’s main orbital position 19.2 degrees East. TVP has been using this capacity since 2005. TVP is the largest public TV broadcaster in Central and Eastern Europe. ››
Amazonas 2 satellite is integrated for launch
Ariane 5’s payload fairing is hoisted into position for installation over Amazonas 2 in the satellite staging area of the Spaceport’s Final Assembly Building. Final payload integration is underway for Arianespace’s fifth Ariane 5 mission of 2009, with the Amazonas 2 telecommunications satellite now encapsulated in its payload fairing. ››
Animal Planet HD in CYFRA+
On 16th of September 2009, subscribers of the satellite platform CYFRA+ have gained an access to Animal Planet HD. Until 11th of November channel can be viewed by all subscribers of the platform with has at least one HD option activated. This is the ninth high-definition channel available in CYFRA+, other ones include: CANAL+ Film HD, CANAL+ Sport HD, National Geographic Channel HD, HBO HD, Filmbox HD, MTVNHD, Eurosport HD and Eurosport 2 HD. ››

Satellite platform CYFRA+ gives its customers a chance to buy Sagem SD decoder for 0,1 PLN - 1 grosz (other SD decoders price is 79 PLN). Operator also offers a new HD PVR decoder from Pace with 500 GB hard disk. In the case of CYFRA+ decoder rentals (SD, PVR+HD), monthly price for all models is 10 PLN. Promotion for a free access to HD channels throughout the contract period is still valid.
When signing a contract for 13 months customer receives 50% discount for all packages for at least 9 months. 100% discount for premium options (CANAL+, HBO, Cinemax) is available for 4 months. HD option is free of charge for 13 months while HBO Digital for 4 months. When signing a contract for 18 months customer receives 50% discount for all packages for 11 months. 100% discount for CANAL+ (5 months) and HBO+CINEMAX (5 months). HD option is free of charge for 18 months while HBO Digital for 5 months.
When signing a contract for 24 months customer receives 50% discount for all packages for 11 months. 50% discount for CANAL+ (24 months) and 100% discount for HBO+CINEMAX (6 months). HD option is free of charge for 24 months while HBO Digital for 5 months. There is also a promotion "LCD TV for 1 PLN" that includes LG LCD 23" Full HD tv set. Contract duration is 24 months with Prestizowy+, Prestizowy HD+ and Komfortowy+ packages with CANAL+ and HBO options.
