TVP losses for 2009 will amount to 115-120 mln PLN. TVP is not threatened by liquidity, although a credit line was not launched yet. Polish Television enlists a 100 mln PLN loan in Bank Pekao SA. The money will provide protection against seasonal fluctuations in the advertising market. more ››

On 1st of January 2010 Polish public television sports channel TVP Sport get a new logo and new graphic. Everything is kept in the white-blue-orange colours. On the same day TVP Sport started broadcasting in 16/9 picture format. Black stripes are added to the materials presented in 4/3 format. more ››

TVP Parlament, a new channel from Polish Television (TVP), still can not start broadcasting because it has not yet received a license from the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT). The official reason for this are errors in the application submitted by TVP to National Broadcasting Council. Details are not known. more ››

TVP (Polish Television) surprised its viewers who receive TVP1 and TVP2 channels on CYFRA+, Orange and n television platforms as well as on TNK and from DVB-T transmitters. From 18th of November selected programmes are transmitted in 16/9 picture format. In DVB-T TVN is also available in 16/9 format. more ››

Polish Television (TVP) has made a substantial editing of the website text entitled "What channels are available on TVP digital platform", adding section that says TVP1, TVP2, TVP Info, TVP Sport and TVP HD will be available after a one-time fee to cover the cost of subscriber cards. Head of TVP2, Krzysztof Nowak, said in an interview for Gazeta Wyborcza, that TVP works on the project of Cogito television. Initially, the new project will be available in the form of programmes on TVP2. However, later this project will be extended to a new thematic channel TVP Cogito. The public Polish television Telewizja Polska SA (TVP) launched a free-to-air platform on ASTRA on 15th September 2009. TVP has therefore extended its satellite capacity contracts for the use of two transponders at ASTRA’s main orbital position 19.2 degrees East. TVP has been using this capacity since 2005. TVP is the largest public TV broadcaster in Central and Eastern Europe. more ››

Dziennik reported that on 15th of September 2009 Polish Television (TVP) will start a test satellite transmission of its platform. National Broadcasting Council chairman, Witold Kołodziejski, said that TVP president Piotr Farfał should nor make a decision on the launch of TVP's platform a few days before his expected withdrawal and without consulting the board. more ››

Polish Television (TVP) satellite platform, which will be launched in 2009, selected satellite operator SES ASTRA and orbital position 19,2E. TVP will not offer 2 packages (as previously announced - free and paid), but 3 packages. There's a lack of space on Eutelsat's 13E position and that is why SES ASTRA was chosen. TVP has also considered 23,5E position but 19,2E satellite is right next to the Hot Bird 13E which is very popular in Poland. more ››

TVP Kultura has officially started the transmission of selected programmes in 16/9 picture format. All subscribers of Polish digital platforms and those with FTA receivers have access to this transmission because the change affects not only the signal from Astra 19.2E but also Hot Bird 9 (13E) satellite. more ››
