TVP launches FTA platform on ASTRA

The public Polish television Telewizja Polska SA (TVP) launched a free-to-air platform on ASTRA on 15th September 2009. TVP has therefore extended its satellite capacity contracts for the use of two transponders at ASTRA’s main orbital position 19.2 degrees East. TVP has been using this capacity since 2005. TVP is the largest public TV broadcaster in Central and Eastern Europe. ››

Amazonas 2 satellite is integrated for launch

Ariane 5’s payload fairing is hoisted into position for installation over Amazonas 2 in the satellite staging area of the Spaceport’s Final Assembly Building. Final payload integration is underway for Arianespace’s fifth Ariane 5 mission of 2009, with the Amazonas 2 telecommunications satellite now encapsulated in its payload fairing. ››

Animal Planet HD in CYFRA+

On 16th of September 2009, subscribers of the satellite platform CYFRA+ have gained an access to Animal Planet HD. Until 11th of November channel can be viewed by all subscribers of the platform with has at least one HD option activated. This is the ninth high-definition channel available in CYFRA+, other ones include: CANAL+ Film HD, CANAL+ Sport HD, National Geographic Channel HD, HBO HD, Filmbox HD, MTVNHD, Eurosport HD and Eurosport 2 HD. ››

FilmBox in Cyfrowy Polsat?

FilmBox movie channels package may soon enrich an offer of Cyfrowy Polsat, the largest Polish digital platform. Cyfrowy Polsat is the only digital satellite platform which doesn't offer a package of 4 FilmBox channels: FilmBox, FilmBox Extra, FilmBox Family and Filmbox HD. more ››


Cyfrowy Polsat with 2,7 mln subscribers

Cyfrowy Polsat platform has ended 2008 with 3 mln customers (subsribers + FTA viewers). In the fourth quarter of 2008 Cyfrowy Polsat added 324,000 customers. Platform's subscribers number is 2,726,993 and that is 658,665 (31.8%) more compared to 2007 (2,068,328). more ››


Cyfrowy Polsat officially confirmes old Nagra in now switched off

Cyfrowy Polsat has officially confirmed that the old system Nagravision 2 is now switched off and the exchange of subscription cards is completed. Polsat and TV4 encoding in Nagravision 2 is also finished. The entire offer is encrypted in Nagravision 3 and signal reception through the old smart cards is impossible.

Polsat Play from new Cyfrowy Polsat transponder

List of channels in Cyfrowy Polsat decoders has been updated. The main change is an addition of Polsat Play from a new transponder where channel was tested for a long time. It is still transmitted from previous parameters. Now the channel is available from a frequency where all Polsat channels are located. more ››


Discovery HD tests in Cyfrowy Polsat

Cyfrowy Polsat platform will add Discovery HD to its offer. Channel was tested since February 2008 in the internal system of Cyfrowy Polsat. By the end of last year Discovery HD was offered exclusively by television N. Discovery HD can be found in Cyfrowy Polsat EPG on channels 80 and 115. The transmission is on tp. 78 of Hot Bird 8 - 13E satellite.

Cyfrowy Polsat in Nagravision 3 since 5th of January 2009

Cyfrowy Polsat platform implements the final phase of indroducing the new conditional access system Nagravision 3. Currently, all premium channels are available in the new Nagravision 3 system. Since 5th of January 2009 the whole platform will offer channels encoded only in Nagravision 3 system and reception of TV signal with the old subscriber cards will not be possible. more ››


MTVNHD oficially joins Cyfrowy Polsat

Cyfrowy Polsat and MTV Networks Poland have reached an agreement under which from 30th of October 2008 MTVNHD has been added to the offer of largest satellite platform in Poland. MTVNHD will be available without additional charges to the end of January 2009 for all subscribers that have HD decoders or modules. more ››


Cyfrowy Polsat will exchange SD decoders for HD ones

From 27th of October Cyfrowy Polsat will start exchanging its SD decoders for the newest HDTV set-top boxes. This will allow the operator to offer its subscribers the access to three high definition channels, including FTA ones. more ››


Polsat Cafe, Polsat Play & Polsat News in Familijny package

Cyfrowy Polsat has informed to which package new channels Polsat Cafe and Polsat Play are going to be added. Channels launch on 6th of October and also in October Polsat News will be encoded. Polsat Cafe to be encoded on the 1st of October

From the 1st of October 2008 Polsat Zdrowie i Uroda will be encoded and its name will change to Polsat Cafe. The new channel will be directed to women, not only professionally completed and active, interested in the world of beauty, fashion and culture news but also those who are looking for their place in the world. more ››
