TVP launches FTA platform on ASTRA
The public Polish television Telewizja Polska SA (TVP) launched a free-to-air platform on ASTRA on 15th September 2009. TVP has therefore extended its satellite capacity contracts for the use of two transponders at ASTRA’s main orbital position 19.2 degrees East. TVP has been using this capacity since 2005. TVP is the largest public TV broadcaster in Central and Eastern Europe. ››
Amazonas 2 satellite is integrated for launch
Ariane 5’s payload fairing is hoisted into position for installation over Amazonas 2 in the satellite staging area of the Spaceport’s Final Assembly Building. Final payload integration is underway for Arianespace’s fifth Ariane 5 mission of 2009, with the Amazonas 2 telecommunications satellite now encapsulated in its payload fairing. ››
Animal Planet HD in CYFRA+
On 16th of September 2009, subscribers of the satellite platform CYFRA+ have gained an access to Animal Planet HD. Until 11th of November channel can be viewed by all subscribers of the platform with has at least one HD option activated. This is the ninth high-definition channel available in CYFRA+, other ones include: CANAL+ Film HD, CANAL+ Sport HD, National Geographic Channel HD, HBO HD, Filmbox HD, MTVNHD, Eurosport HD and Eurosport 2 HD. ››
Filmbox and Filmbox HD in Cyfrowy Polsat
On 2nd of March 2010 the largest satellite platform in Poland added two news channels - Filmbox and Filmbox HD, soon the titles offered by SPI International Poland will enrich Cyfrowy Polsat VOD collection. Filmbox appeared in Relax Mix package on channel 34 and replaced TV1000, which is no longer available in Cyfrowy Polsat. more ››
Comedy Central in Cyfrowy Polsat
From February 6th of February 2010 by agreement between Cyfrowy Polsat and MTV Networks Poland the largest satellite platform in Poland offers Comedy Central. This channel appeared on position 46 in EPG and is a part of Familijny package. Comedy Central is available for a long time in such platforms as CYFRA+, n and TP (Orange). more ››
FOX Life HD in Cyfrowy Polsat this April
From 6th of February 2010 offer of Cyfrowy Polsat ius enriched by 4 new channels, including two in HD. Comedy Central, Nat Geo Wild and Nat Geo Wild HD are already available and FOX Life HD should appear in April. Comedy Central and Nat Geo Wild are a part of Familijny package (channels 46 and 89). more ››
Familijny F300 - new Cyfrowy Polsat decoder
Familijny F300 is a new decoder offered by production company Cyfrowy Polsat Technology. It is available from 25th of January. This will be the improved version of Familijny decoder which is available in platform's offer since spring of 2009. more ››
Cyfrowy Polsat with 3,2 mln subscribers
Cyfrowy Polsat, the largest satellite platform in Poland, closed 2009 with 3.2 million subscribers. It means that in the fourth quarter of 2010 Cyfrowy Polsat subscriber base has increased by 286,000. In November 2009 operator announced 3 million subscribers whuch means an increase of 200,000 within a month. The total number Cyfrowy Polsat decoders users is 3.9 million. more ››
Jetix Play no longer available in Cyfrowy Polsat
On 28th of December 2009 Jetix Play has been removed form channel 198 in Cyfrowy Polsat decoders. In November new channel apperared in the offer of Cyfrowy Polsat - Polsat JimJam and it now replaced Jetix Play. New station for children can be found in Mini package and it is available on channel 67. more ››
Cyfrowy Polsat with TVP1 and Discovery HD from new frequencies
Cyfrowy Polsat has changed two transponders from which TVP1 and Discovery HD are available. TVP1 is now taken from Cyfra+ transponder (but not TVP2), Discovery HD is taken from a frequency of n platform. This moves create space for new channels - one in SD and one in HD. Cyfrowy Polsat has announced addition of new stations in HD and SD for the end of this year and early 2010. more ››
Cyfrowy Polsat with new HD channels
Dominik Libicki from Cyfrowy Polsat has informed us on a press conference that took place on 30th of November 2009 that in December or January next year new high definition (HDTV) channels will appear in the offer of Cyfrowy Polsat. For the moment we do not know exactly when and which channels will be offered. more ››
Cyfrowy Polsat: changes on channels list
Satellite platform Cyfrowy Polsat has made changes to its list of channels. This is due to start of a new VOD service. Channels that are part of the new service were placed on channels 23-26 and 51-65. Nickelodeon (channel 71) was added to Bajeczka package and Jetix Play was moved to channel 198. more ››

During the Media Summit 2009 conference held in Warsaw on 19.11.2009 Cyfrowy Polsat board member, Andrew Matuszynski announced an original VOD offer of Cyfrowy Polsat. Service would be launched at end of this year. Polsat guarantees innovative approach to Video on Demand, but without PPV (Pay-Per-View) as previously suggested in media publications. more ››
